Kevin is a first generation farmer and attended agricultural college. Whilst at agricultural college he grew vegetables on a small plot of land which he would sell door to door from his bicycle. When he left agricultural college Kevin moved to Farndon Fields Farm (which was grass fields with cattle and sheep) and introduced growing potatoes and vegetables. Soft fruit soon followed and instead of travelling door to door selling his produce, Kevin put a table tennis table on the side of the road by the farmhouse and sold his produce from there. The demand soon grew and they decided to convert the garage into a shop. Farndon Fields Farm Shop was born!
Milly is an interior designer and specialised in shop interiors. Before she married Kevin in 1988 Milly designed the interiors for many large department stores, restaurants and shops across the Midlands. Milly joined the Farndon Fields team in 1989 after starting a family. The farm shop was in the farmhouse garage (joined to the house!) so it really was working from home. Milly soon re-designed the farm shop to make the most of the small space available in the garage. In 1998 Milly and Kevin decided to embark on the next chapter of Farndon Fields; to build a purpose built farm shop in the paddock next door. Milly designed the building and continues to design all the interior, decoration and layout to this day.
Farndon Fields isn't your typical farm shop; it's a wonderful mix of Kevin's devotion to farming, Milly's unique flair for design and their joint love of fantastic food all with a healthy dose of hard work and determination.
