May is a fantastic month when it comes to seasonal produce.
Sandwiched between spring and summer, May is when we start to have more homegrown produce from the farm and if the weather is on our side we might even have our first crop of homegrown strawberries at the end of the month!
It's certainly a great time to try something new and we've picked out a few of our favorite seasonal vegetables and found delicious recipes for you to enjoy this week.
We've also printed them out as recipe cards for you to pick up the next time you shop with us.
Ready in just 25 minutes, this dish is sure to become a firm family favourite. The pancetta goes perfectly with the creamy sauce, whilst the asparagus gives the dish a delightful crunch.
We've now got our homegrown asparagus for sale in the farm shop, but you'll need to be quick as it won't be around for long!
This recipe is a take on patatas bravas but with a British twist. The salt gives a delicious crust to the new potatoes and helps to bring out their slightly sweet flavour.
Currently, in the farm shop, we have Cornish new potatoes. They come straight from the ground with mud and all! This helps to preserve their quality, flavour, and freshness.
This cold spell calls for comfort food and there's nothing better than a bubbling, freshly-baked pie.
Our homegrown leeks make a delicious addition to this recipe, with the saltiness of the ham complementing the sweetness of the leeks. But if you can't find any ham then adding in bacon is a good alternative.
